KeyShot Installation

Use the following links to download KeyShot for any version purchased. If you purchased KeyShot Pro Floating or Enterprise, please see the Floating/Enterprise tab first.

Install KeyShot
If you haven't done so already, please download the latest version of KeyShot here:

Activate KeyShot
To activate your product, please follow these steps:
1. Start KeyShot
2. If the registration dialogue box does not open, look under the 'KeyShot' menu on macOS, or 'Help' menu on Windows, and click on 'Register a license' and click yes when it asks if you want to upgrade your license
3. Click Activate your license and click ‘Continue'
4. Enter your info and click ‘Continue'
5. Click on Activate your license and click ‘Continue'
6. Enter your KeyShot serial code and click ‘Continue'
7. Enter your KeyShotXR code if you have one or leave the field blank and click 'Continue'

KeyShot will be activated automatically. If your internet connection prevents you from communicating with the server, please select 'Save request file', and send to license@luxion.com. A valid license file will be returned to you within 24 hours.

KeyShot Floating - Server Installation

KeyShot Pro Floating and Enterprise licenses will be served from a licensing server. Before you install KeyShot, we'll get your server set up. Please follow the instructions below to request the license file for your license server¹.

Request your license file
1. Start Luxion License Server
2. Go to the Request License tab to generate a request message for our licensing team.
3. Enter your name
4. Enter your company name
5. Enter the 20 character serial code that was provided to you in the purchase confirmation email.
6. Click Copy to clipboard
7. Create a new email on your email client and paste the clipboard contents.
8. Send the email to license@luxion.com

Once Luxion Licensing receives your request, your license file will be generated and sent to you within one business day (Mon-Fri).

Note: A 32-core network rendering license is included with every KeyShot Enterprise purchase (that is, 32 cores per floating seat). Once we receive your request, Luxion Licensing will provide you with specific setup instructions.

¹ Any computer within your office network may host the KeyShot license file and act as KeyShot's license server. We recommend selecting a Windows desktop.The license server must be powered on and connected to the network at all times.

KeyShotWeb Installation

No additional download is needed if you already have KeyShot installed. Simply select Help from the KeyShot menu and activate your product. Enter the serial code and click 'Continue'. KeyShot will restart and KeyShotWeb will be activated.

Start KeyShot
Click the 'KeyShot' menu on macOS, or 'Help' menu on Windows
Select 'Activate KeyShotWeb’
Verify your contact information and click 'Continue'
Input your KeyShotWeb serial code and click 'Continue'
Restart KeyShot and KeyShotWeb will be activated

KeyShot Upgrades

KeyShot upgrades require a valid serial code for previous products in order to be activated. Please follow the following steps to activate your license. To upgrade your product, please follow these steps:

Download and install KeyShot.
Click the 'KeyShot' menu on macOS, or 'Help' menu on Windows
Click 'Register license'
Click 'Activate your license'
Fill out information and click continue
NOTE: Please make sure you fill out the information according to the end-user
Click 'Activate upgrade license'
Enter upgrade serial code
Enter your old serial code
Enter your KeyShotWeb code if you have one or leave the field blank and click ‘Continue’

Network Rendering

Below, you will find instructions on how to set up KeyShot Network Rendering¹.

Install KeyShot Network Rendering on all computers connected to the network starting with the master. You may download KeyShot Network Rendering from the links shown below.

Launch KeyShot Network Configurator and click Run the configuration wizard.
For Linux installation instructions, please see here
Select Master mode, and click Next (PC) or Continue (macOS). You will be asked to register your license.
Click Request license and fill in your information. Enter your serial code and click Register. You network license will activate automatically.
Click Next (PC) or Continue (macOS) and continue setting up your network services according to the setup manual
